Our Fleet: Robinson R-22 and R-44 Helicopters

Flight training is given in both the Robinson R-22 and Robinson R-44 helicopters. We have three Robinson R-22s and one R-44 Raven I that we use for our flight instruction. In November of 2011, Robinson Helicopter Company of Torrance, California, celebrated the sale of their 10,000th helicopter. They have repeatedly broken the record for being the leading producer of civilian helicopters. Robinson is known worldwide for its high performance and reliable helicopters.

Our primary concern is to maintain the safety of both our instructors and students. We keep our machines in immaculate condition and as we are an authorized Robinson service center, all maintenance is done in house.

The Robinson R-22 is a two seat, light utility helicopter with quick maneuverability leading it to be one of the notably more fun helicopters to fly. The R-22 also holds every world record in its weight class for speed, altitude and distance. The fact that it is so light allows it to be extremely responsive to flight control inputs. They are very dependable high performance helicopters and are the primary aircraft used for flight instruction here at Alyeska Helicopters.

The Robinson R-44 is a four seat, light helicopter that has been in production since 1992. Hydraulically assisted flight controls provide responsive handling and quick reaction times. The single piston engine in the R-44 enables it to function for many applications, both for private use and commercially. These helicopters are long range and have above normal performance in high altitude conditions, which make them perfect for flying in Alaska.
